It is a size which can accomplish most of the projects a wood turner is likely to try and is the largest lathe which can comfortably be moved off the bench when not in use. The bed of the lathe is precision ground cast iron giving 14″ between centres when working with the heavy duty centres, which are supplied as standard. The bowl turning capacity of 12″ diameter over the bed, requires a very low speed which is achieved using a converter and a DC motor. A clear LCD display shows the current RPM of the spindle. The tool rest banjo is a cam-lock design for rapid adjustments. An extra long chromed handle is used to effortlessly lock the banjo in place. The tool rest itself is made from a round hardened steel bar, which is a firm favourite with experienced woodturners. The headstock is hollow centred to allow for easy tool removal, the tailstock is also hollow and has automatic centre removal. The headstock of the lathe is fitted with a 24 position indexing system. this allows the spindle to be locked at intervals of 15 degrees to allow decorative features to be added to your project.
