For bedrooms, we recommend wall and ceilings paint - ideal for general living spaces it offers good coverage and it's wipeable too, great for when those accidental spills or splashes occur. For hallways, we recommend our tough & durable durable paint - easy to clean, high opacity, ideal for high traffic areas. For living rooms, we recommend our ultra cover paint - ideal for general living spaces, has good opacity and is wipeable. For bathrooms, we recommend our bathroom paint - mould resistant, easy to clean, and stain resistant. For kitchens, we recommend our kitchen paint - grease resistant, easy to clean and stain resistant.

Choose the right colour for your room

Lighting can affect the way we perceive colour, whether it’s natural or artificial light. The size and number of windows, their directional placement, and seasonal light can all change how a colour can look. Here is some advice on what to be aware of when selecting colours for your home, depending on the direction your room is facing.

 

 

What is Light Reflectance Value?

LRV (Light Reflectance Value) is a value of how much light a colour reflects or absorbs.

A colour with an LRV above 50 will reflect more light than it absorbs, so choose these colours to make the most of the light in your room. A colour with an LRV below 50 will absorb more light than it reflects creating a cosier atmosphere. For these colours you may want to think more about your lighting scheme to account for your darker colour choice.

GoodHome walls and ceilings paint

Selecting the perfect colour can be a tough decision. We’ve carefully curated a collection of 60 beautiful colours, to make that choice simpler. Built to withstand daily life – our paints are durable and can easily be wiped clean, whilst keeping the colour intact.

All 60 colours are available in a matt finish in both our walls and ceilings and durable formulations, and also in a silk finish in our walls and ceilings formulation. Light reflectance values for each colour will be shown as a number between 0-100. The higher the number the more light the colour reflects.

GoodHome ultra cover

Our GoodHome ultra cover paint has been formulated to give you a beautiful finish with just one coat of paint. Thanks to it's high opacity you can get the perfect finish without the need for multiple coats. It is wipeable, contains minimal VOCs and has a low odour - perfect for general living areas such as your living room or bedroom.

GoodHome tough & durable

Our GoodHome tough & durable paint has our most hard-wearing formulation and excellent covering power. It is stain resistant and washable and so is ideal for hallways, stairwells and children’s bedrooms. It repels various liquids creating a beading effect, so splashes can be wiped off with ease. It can even be used on wood and metal with a suitable primer. Like all of our GoodHome paints it is low odour and water-based so cleaning up is easy.

GoodHome kitchen paint

Specifically formulated for hot and bustling environments, our kitchen paints are grease and stain resistant, making it easy to keep your walls squeaky clean. We have carefully selected key colours from our walls & ceilings palette to complement our most popular kitchens. Kitchens see frequent use, and the combination of steam, condensation, cooking grease and stains can potentially damage painted walls.

Our experts have developed a greaseproof formulation, that resists everyday cooking stains, whilst being washable without colour fading over time. GoodHome kitchen paint is ideal for refreshing the walls and ceilings of a kitchen with a smooth matt finish. Its washable, grease resistant and stain resistant meaning the paint will stay looking fresher for longer.
