Charities, Sponsorship & Donations

Find out more about B&Q in the community and what we're doing to help.

At B&Q, we believe that everyone should have a home they can feel good about. However, for people in difficult circumstances, having a home that's even just safe and secure may feel like an impossibility.

That’s why in 2017 we launched a new community strategy to create good homes for the people most in need of our help, working in partnership with charities including Shelter and the British Red Cross. You can read more about our work on our Community pages.

At a national level, our current focus is to support our charity partner Shelter and our emergency partner, the British Red Cross.

Stores are occasionally able to support additional local community initiatives. Find your nearest B&Q store.

While we’re passionate about supporting local good causes, please do understand we receive many requests and unfortunately, we’re unable to help everyone. Please be aware that B&Q no longer permits charity collections in-store except for our charity partners.

If you are a local community group or school looking for product donations, you can read more about our Community Reuse scheme.

B&Q operates a waste donation scheme through all our stores where schools, charitable organisations and community groups may request un-saleable products for their own re-use. It is up to each individual store what they are able to donate; this may be cuts of timber, slightly damaged tins of paint, damaged tiles, plants etc.

Any stock donated is not to be re-sold and is subject to what the store has available to donate.
