To keep us and the environment happy, we kindly ask that when disposing of any electric or electrical items that you do so correctly.
If you have any small electrical or electronic (EE) products, you can drop them off in one of our recycling units at our stores - that way you can be sure they’ll be recycled responsibly and at no cost to you. We also take light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and batteries in our recycling units. Alternatively, contact your local council to find your nearest WEEE recycling site.
If you’re handing over smart products such as phones, watches, smart speakers, TVs etc, be sure to destroy your personal data that may be stored on them. You can drop off used or unwanted light bulbs and fluorescent light bulbs in one of our recycling units in our stores for free. Please remove loose lightbulbs from any electrical device you’re dropping off e.g. table lamp, and put them in the corresponding recycling section of our unit.
Yes. You’ll find battery recycling units in all our stores. We accept AA, AAA and any other batteries used in computers, mobile phones and watches. Please remove batteries from electrical device we’re collecting from you and put them in the corresponding recycling section of our unit.
We’ll collect any large electrical or electronic (EE) products from your home if you’ve bought a like-for-like product from B&Q. Simply call our Contact Centre on 0333 014 3529 to book your collection. We do charge a collection fee of £44 per item. Payments are made at the time of booking.
This is a product that is replacing something that is the same. For example, an oven that is replacing another oven is a like-for-like product. Therefore, we would only be able to collect your existing oven if you'd bought a new oven from B&Q.

No, the collection service is only to collect large electrical and electronic items, so they must be disconnected/unplugged and emptied prior to collection.
